Physlet 2.2 (Lab 4)

1. In the "ball only" animation, the ball moves at a constant velocity until it reaches about .75 seconds, it then increases its velocity but continues at this same rate until the end.
2. Graph A is correct. For the first .75 seconds the ball moves at a constant velocity which is showed by the linear graph. It then increases its velocity which is shown with a steeper line on the graph. Graph B is incorrect because this graph shows a decrease of velocity for the second half of the graph, however, the ball definitely increases velocity. Graph C is also incorrect because it shows a large jump in the middle of the graph, but after this jump the ball returns to the original velocity which did not occur.
3. Graph D is correct. This graph shows zero acceleration for both halves of the graph. The ball remains at a constant velocity which is zero acceleration. Graph E is incorrect because it shows constant acceleration which did not happen with the ball. Graph F is also incorrect because it shows zero acceleration for the first half of the graph but then shows constant acceleration for the last half which the ball did not show through its movement.
